Dear reader, if you are not already a firm believer in Jesus Christ and His ministering spirits please do not read this document yet as we are going to delve deep into the spirit world. These spirits are very real and this document is going to expose them completely. If you are not a follower of Christ or you just don’t believe this document may not help you in the way I have intended it to – I turn your attention instead to some of the other documents on this website and I encourage you to give your heart to Jesus.
With a prayer in our hearts, dear reader let’s begin. Let’s turn to the word of God and start where it all began:-
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
But this is where it all began on earth. We need to go back much further to see where it all began:
Nehemiah 9:6 “Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, …”
So we see from these verses that it all began in heaven. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost established their government then they created the ministering angels. Not all went according to plan, see Jesus and His team, His government, wanted a happy, burden free environment and all the angels were free – no forced obedience. Love and respect were the underlying principles.
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
Jesus knocks at the door of our heart, He never pushes the door down.
But, as I mentioned above not all went to plan, unfortunately Lucifer, the leading angel, became jealous. He wanted ‘in’ with Jesus and the Father, he wanted to be equal with Jesus.
Isaiah 14:13,14 “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”
What happens in any country when subjects rebel against their leader? yes, I’m sorry to say – war.
Revelation 12:7,9 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels… And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, …”
The devil (Lucifer) succeeded to a large degree, he convinced one third of the heavenly host to follow him. The devil used what God could not, deceit, and he was so clever about it one third of the angels believed him. After his expulsion the devil requested forgiveness and requested to be reinstated but Jesus knew he (the devil) wasn’t sorry for what he had done but sorry for what he had lost. Satan determined to cast his whole energies to work against the God of heaven and from that time forth his whole being is to fight and to oppose the kingdom of God and any who follow Jesus.
Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
Following the timeline down through history we can see how the devil dogged Jesus and His followers. Today is no different, the devil knows his time on this earth is coming to a close, very soon Jesus will return and the devil’s reign will be over. The devil is out now to destroy as many souls as possible and he will use all the dirty tactics he has amassed over the centuries. Jesus, on the other hand is out to save as many souls as possible but unlike Satan, Jesus uses love, compassion and forgiveness, He never uses force, coercion or deceit. Both sides have ministering spirits (angels) and both sides use these agents of love or destruction (depending on whose side they are on) to engage with the inhabitants of earth.
This document is about the interactions of angels from both sides, good and bad, so let’s jump right in.
We have established that these ministering spirits exist so let’s look closer into how they work. Let’s start with God’s government. We know (via the numerous Bible quotes available) that God’s government has been established on the basis of love. All are created free, free to choose good or evil. Jesus offers life, love, forgiveness, and happiness in our heavenly home. Satan only offers misery, destruction and eternal death. Satan’s government is the direct opposite of God’s as it says in Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ”. Satan was out to oppose everything God did so naturally he worked to contradict every move God made. Satan started his campaign early, first deceiving Eve into disbelieving the word of God (Genesis 3:1-5). Moving on to the first descendants, Satan found a supporter in Cain, and possessed him to kill Abel (Genesis 4:8). By the time we got to Noah, Satan had so succeeded with his malice the only option left to God was to destroy His creation via the flood (Genesis Chapter 7). So we see Satan is very cunning and moving down through the timeline his cunning and his desire to destroy has become much worse, just look around you, the world has never been so violent.
But this violent world isn’t going to endure much longer, Jesus is going to return, Satan is going to have his day in court and he will have ‘hell to pay’. Soon Jesus will release us from the devil’s domain and heaven will be our home, but till then let’s delve deeper into these governments and their agents.
Firstly we need to acknowledge the word government – one of the definitions in the dictionary reads:-
“The action or manner of controlling or regulating a state, organization, or people.”
What does this say to you? Yes, it’s not just The Father, Son and Holy Ghost, there are other agents involved. After all, what’s the point in establishing a government if there is no-one to govern. So both governments, God’s and Satan’s have subjects. Both in adversary with each other, both used to be friends. Satan and his angels lost all respect and gained complete hatred from God’s angels when he (Satan) nailed Jesus on the cross and from that point it has been all out war. Each side fighting for the souls of the people on earth, Jesus to save, Satan to destroy. Both sides commissioning their angels for good or evil. There are a lot of angels in heaven:-
Revelation 5:11 “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;”
That’s a lot of angels and they are all ministering spirits, waiting to do God’s bidding. As we mentioned earlier Satan succeeded in deceiving one third of the angels to rebel against their Saviour (Revelation 12:4), but look at how many are still in heaven, thousands and thousands. Yes friend Jesus has a angel for each of us, and we are all more than protected against the devil and his wiles.
Let’s compare how the two vastly different governments run their empires and how they use their helpers. Let’s start with Jesus, all commands proceed from the throne, all directions come from Jesus. Each angel knows his position and the job he is to perform and having chosen to be on Jesus’ team, each angel delights to serve Jesus and in turn His subjects on earth. Let’s take a quick look at one of God’s promises and how He uses His angels:-
Psalms 91:11 “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
What a beautiful promise, Jesus is saying His angels will be with you. Let’s look at a few examples of how Jesus’ angels help us in this warfare against the devil.
Acts 12:4-11 “And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.”
Daniel 6:16,20,22 “Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee…And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?…My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me:…”
These are but a couple of examples of the many available in the course of history. Proof that Jesus uses His angels for good, to help, protect, encourage and strengthen. Let’s have a quick look at the devil’s tactics.
John 13:2 “And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;”
John 18:3 “Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.”
Acts 5:3 “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?”
1st Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
I believe the last Bible verse says it all, the devil is bent on our destruction. There is nothing good in the devil, he is only out to destroy us, he knows he is going to have to pay for his crimes and he is determined not to suffer alone, he will take everyone he possibly can with him.
So we have established how both armies use their angels to help or to destroy but let’s go deeper still into how they work against each other and how that affects us, we are really the ‘piggy in the middle’. Jesus is using His angels to help us while Satan is using his angels to destroy us. Let’s paint a picture of how this works to get a better understanding.
You are walking down a busy boulevard, your day has been busy and you are very tired. Distracted by a ‘important’ text message, exhausted and in pain you don’t notice you have come to a busy intersection. Here we need to stop and press the pause button. Firstly let’s look behind the scene, let’s go a few steps back. You are tired, in pain, if you could see the angels around you, you would see Satan’s angels in your ear drumming up how tired and sore you are. If you could see Jesus’ angels, you would see them with their arms around you holding you up, giving you strength. The text message comes in, the first impulse in your ear is the devil, “answer it now, it’s important”. This impression comes in with much urgency and a overwhelming compelling, you must answer the text message now. The other impression you feel almost at the same time is a feeling of hesitancy, can’t it wait? Do you really need to answer it now? You’re walking down a busy road, there’s danger about, wait for a safer time to respond. This response is from Jesus’ angels. The argument goes back and forth, both sides striving for the mastery. Jesus is out to protect you, He knows the road is dangerous, Satan also knows the road is dangerous and he is out to destroy you. Let’s hit the play button. You have answered the text and you are not watching what you are doing, the busy intersection looms ahead of you and common sense dictates you to stop. But this is where the contest between Jesus and Satan becomes intense. Jesus is urging you to stop, Satan is urging you forward. What do you do? Are you listening?
Jesus has us in the palm of His hands, it is so important to listen. Even in the trials of everyday life Jesus is there, please friend listen to Him.
You get the idea, let’s move forward. The above example was in everyday living, let’s move on to the spiritual world – our salvation. Jesus died on the cross for our lives, (Luke Chapter 23) Satan killed Him. See the difference? So the fight goes on, but now it gets more crucial than ever, now we are fighting for our eternal safety, now we are fighting for heaven. Satan wants all for hell, Jesus wants all for heaven. Let’s paint another picture.
There are two people walking parallel paths, both are identical in health, family, work, pleasures and stresses. Both Satan and Jesus have their eyes on these two individuals, both want them for their family. Now the path we described above is very different from the one we are about to pursue. The above allegory depicted a event the individual could actually see, the picture we are about to paint is varied from the point of view it’s spiritual, you can’t actually ‘see’ it, it all goes on in our head. This is why I said at the beginning if you don’t believe please stop reading. This spiritual world is very real, these angels do exist and if you don’t believe these ‘voices’ in your head (and Satan has actually done this, a lot) they do have the potential to cause madness. They call it schizophrenia – quoting the internet, schizophrenia is “a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behaviour, leading to faulty perception…”. Now don’t get me wrong, there are real cases of schizophrenia out there where the brain is permanently and severely damaged, but a lot have been caused by Satan whispering madness into people’s minds and if these people do not recognise the devil in the detail madness can follow. Now moving on with our allegory, these two people, as we have mentioned are very alike. Trouble comes upon both of them, let’s look at how each person responds. To save confusion let’s call them subject A and subject B. We all know Jesus often takes us through the fires of affliction:-
Isaiah 48:10 “Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.”
1st Peter 1:7 “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
These fires are to purge us so we come out in the express image of Jesus. Jesus never causes the affliction but He does use it, often to bring us into a realisation of Him and to teach us to trust in Jesus, Jesus will bring us safely home. Satan on the other hand is out to ensnare us:-
Luke 22:31 “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:”
2nd Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devises.”
Satan never offers compassion or hope, he is only out to destroy in any way he possibly can. So trouble has come upon our two subjects, previously neither have professed any interest in religion but neither have denied it. It is here the fight for life or death begins. Jesus offers hope, strength, comfort, courage, protection and He does it via His angel helpers. It was Jesus and His angels in the lions den with Daniel (Daniel Chapter 6), in the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel Chapter 3), with Elisha when surrounded by the enemy (2nd Kings Chapter 6). As Jesus commissioned angels to protect His people in the past so He will continue to be with us and protect us. The same Jesus that protected His people in the past is still alive today and He is more than ever determined to save today. Satan on the other hand, as we have seen is only intent on our destruction. It was Satan who set the trap for Daniel, it was Satan who set up the scene for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and it was Satan’s angels surrounding Elisha. So we can see the two armies battling it out, let’s see how our friends end up.
When trouble comes upon us people often react in two different ways, subject A blames God, and becomes despondent. Both Jesus and Satan are in his ear at the moment. Jesus is offering His angels and His services, Satan is doing the same. This is where it comes down to the individual, yes friend, it comes down to you. Who are you going to listen to? Let’s follow along with subject A. Subject A doesn’t take the comfort offered by Jesus, as a result the devil and his angels move in and take the subject for all he has, he is left a empty shell of a person. Salvation isn’t at this stage lost, Jesus will continue to work with subject A till salvation is accepted or forever rejected. Subject B on the other hand, has accepted Jesus’ offer of assistance. Immediately all commissioned angels rush to the side of this struggling subject. Hope, comfort and strength are all a given and with Jesus and His helpers by his side this subject B safely traverses the rocky path and lands safely on the other side.
But we have only just scratched the surface. Let’s look at how this process takes place. Two sides, Jesus and Satan, good and evil, facing off. The battle is fierce my friend, they are not only talking to the subjects they are also physically fighting each other. These battles are very real my friend, these armies do face off and engage in actual warfare, they do hand to hand battle, they have armies and armour and this fight is for real. They fight for control, they fight for our lives. If the devil could he would destroy on the spot every child of God along with everyone even thinking of joining God’s team. The armies of God and the armies of the devil meet on the battle field, yes friend, they fight for you and me. We have no cause for concern friend, the armies of God are much stronger than the devil, but in the tumult we are often tossed around. We feel the sound waves of the battle and often we think our lives are lost. With the victory comes peace, that blessed peace from heaven, another battle fought and another battle won. Jesus and His army always wins friend, but we must hold our ground. Don’t for a moment cross to the other side, if we place ourselves on Satan’s ground and conform to Satan’s desires there is not much Jesus can do as we have chosen the other side. Don’t go there friend please.
As well as fighting for our lives Jesus also offers help against the devil:-
1st Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
We know Jesus died on the cross to save us from sin, His blood is our surety for salvation. But do we also know Jesus is our intercessor between ourselves and the devil? Yes, we now know Jesus and His army fights for our lives but in this warfare Jesus and His army also intercede for us. In the battle with temptation Jesus and His angels are always there, thus far can the devil go and no further, it’s like a barrier is up and the devil is powerless to cross it. Yes, temptation comes but with it always comes the heavenly host with their power of intercession. If we listen to our angel friends many a temptation would be thwarted.
Jesus and His angels are bent on our salvation and not a rock would be left unturned to find us if we became lost. Jesus died so we could go free, think about it friend, how many people would do that? Jesus loves us dearly and He has commissioned His angels to assist, comfort and protect us. Rest in His arms and next time you hear His whispers of warning in your ear please friend, listen.
Let’s finish with a allegory to highlight this message.
A farmer and his daughter lived on a property on the outskirts of town. His wife had died early on and his daughter was the pride of his life and he loved her dearly. They didn’t have much in the way of earthly possessions but they were happy. The grounds were vast and the farmer was getting on in years, so in order to call his daughter in he would sing a special song. Whenever the young girl heard the song wherever she was, whatever she was doing she would drop everything and run to her father’s side. Time moved on and the daughter grew older, she became restless and desiring a change left home for the city. The father was greatly distressed to see her leave but his daughter promised to stay in touch. Time passed and the letters became less and less frequent till they stopped completely. The father became very worried and after some time had passed he resolved to find his daughter. He travelled to the city and began his search, he looked everywhere till he feared his search would be in vain. On the very last night before he had to leave the father made his way to the most darkest, dingiest, roughest place of the town. As he walked up and down the streets he started singing his daughter’s special song. Above one of the taverns, in the gambling hall a tired, worn girl raised her head and listened, could it be? He’s looking for me? Surely not? Hope filled her heart and as the song became louder her whole being jumped for joy. A fellow comrade asked her where she was going and answering with a voice full of emotion she said “I have to go, my father’s calling me”.
My friends, our Father is calling us. Please won’t you answer His call today. Amen
