The Law of God and The Law of Moses

From the beginning the Law of God has stood through all the ages. But as time moves on manuscripts are lost and man changes things to suit his purpose.

Before we proceed we need to establish which current, various versions of ‘the law’ is still correct. Man in his efforts to ‘interpret’ the different versions of the scriptures has changed the original meaning of the gospel. So before we can start studying the Law of Moses as given by God we need to establish which version of the scriptures are most accurate today. I believe in the King James Version. My father before me put his faith in this version of the Bible and I will be following in his footsteps and putting my faith in this version also. (There is also a excerpt under ‘terms of use’ that explains why I have put my faith in this version of the Bible)

So let’s proceed in our studies starting with the Law of God

The Law of God was first given to Moses via the tables of stone on Mount Sinai. It has been mentioned again throughout the scriptures twice, in Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:1-22. But the judgements and statutes ordained by God go back to the very beginning of time. Starting with Adam and Eve, Jesus has always left us with principles of order and justice.

Let’s start with the principles given for us by God for law and order.  God’s government is ruled by love, all participants can live in peace and harmony under the law of God.

This rule is the one most targeted by Satan. Through the devil’s agents this law has been manipulated till respect and love for God and respect for our fellow man has been completely obliterated. Men pay more respect to innate statues than to the living God. They have created a means for man to abuse, demoralise and destroy others while they themselves (the perpetrator) are ‘free’ from sin, forgiven, while their victim has no rights.

By man’s law this is confession and forgiveness via a priest (someone often just as sinful or more so). By the law of God (without true repentance to Jesus) this is unforgivable and punishment for sin is inevitable. The law of man has been orchestrated by Satan to rubbish God and treat His creation worse than the dumbest animals.

So let’s get back to basics. Let’s focus and study out the beautiful truths of the Law of God as it was from the beginning.

King James Version:-

Exodus 20:1,2 “And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
(20:3) 1/ Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.
(20:4-6) 2/ Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: For I, the LORD thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; but shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
(20:7) 3/ Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.
(20:8-11) 4/ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: In it thou shalt not do any work: thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: Wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
(20:12) 5/ Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
(20:13) 6/ Thou shalt not kill.
(20:14) 7/ Thou shalt not commit adultery.
(20:15) 8/ Thou shalt not steal.
(20:16) 9/ Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
(20:17) 10/ Thou shalt not covert thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour’s.”

These precepts of the Bible have been at the foundation of God’s government from the beginning. All of God’s heavenly universe live by these rules. They have brought order and respect to all beings living under its banner.

Let’s take a closer look at these rules and the changes man has implemented to suit his evil purpose. Before we start, however, we need to take a quick look back to the very beginning of time.

Satan’s original claim (when he was Lucifer in heaven) was an attack on the Law of God. Satan was jealous, he wanted ‘in’ with God the Father and God the Son. In his dissatisfaction he attacked the foundation of God’s government, the Law of God.

After his expulsion from heaven he set all his energies to discredit God, to make Him appear as a tyrant, someone only looking to punish and enslave. Satan has succeeded in his attempts to a large degree, the policies and principles he (Satan) has entered into some of the world’s churches are the direct opposite of a God of love. These rules are directly from Satan and they highlight his true character. But Satan has managed to palm these off as belonging to God and man has fallen for his farce.

There are many fallacies that Satan has implemented into ‘his churches’, all of which can be discredited by a close study of the Law of God. We are not going to repeat all of them in this document, but I would like to target the one that hits hardest to the Law of God.

1. Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me.

God was from the beginning, nobody else was around. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit created the entire universe. They and They alone are worthy of worship. They gave us life and everything we need for peaceful, comfortable living. No other object/person is deserving of respect or worship.

Let me draw a picture to try to impress the importance of this into our minds. Let’s say, you have worked hard all your life. You have saved every penny. You have denied yourself the simplest of comforts and pleasures. Then you take a partner and in your efforts to please you create (out of your life’s savings) a beautiful palace. You fill it with all the comforts you can image, then you present it to your partner, but instead of thanking you and respecting you, your partner turns their back on you, scorns you, worships the beautiful house but rejects the creator. Then to make matters worse they discard you completely and bring in another partner, someone else who had nothing to do with creating the mansion. Your ‘ex’ partner now worships and respects and showers love and praise onto their new partner (who had nothing to do with the ‘creation’). How would you feel?

You know Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins, even though we cast Him out. Jesus still loves us dearly and He is tenderly calling us to come back to the original Creator. To worship a God of love under a government of justice and love.
